"TV Derana"  telecast in Australia and New Zeland based on DTH (Direct to Home) satellite technology. You need a satellite receiver and dish installed to access the channel.

TV Derana will be telecast everyday from 5pm to 11pm (AEST) on UBI Channel 150 until late 2010,  over Australia and New Zealand.   This will be a free to air telecast via satellite.  From late 2010, channel will be telecast 24hrs per day and may be based on nominal subscriptions fee. This is to cover the expensive satellite,  transmission and programming costs. However the subscription cost will be a nominal fee and less than one dollar per day. We will also include 24hrs Radio channel directly from Sri Lanka.

New customers:
Until late 2010 you can watch Derana TV using any satellite receiver  pointed to optus D2 satellite and you will have access to all 'Free to Air'  channels including Derana TV. However from late 2010,  you can only watch Derana on UBI compatible receiver. Therefore we strongly recommend to install UBI compatible receiver for all new installations to avoid change of receiver in later date when the channel starts 24hrs/per day telecast. Please contact UBI customer care centre for installations.

Existing customers
If you have a satellite dish/receiver  already installed  you can watch the Derana programs   and dish should be pointed to Optus D2 to watch UBI transmission. If it is not a UBI compatible system then you will have to change the receiver before we commence 24hrs/day programs in late 2010
